On Sep.17, 2012, the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and the Department for International Development (DFID) of the United Kingdom signed a Memorandum of Understanding and launched the China-UK Global Health Support Programme (GHSP), in which China and UK are working together to improve global health policy and outcomes for developing countries through partnership. The program amounts to 12 million pounds launched in partnership by China and UK governments from Oct.2012 to March ,2019. The outputs are very fruitful, which can be structured in maternal health, health system, disease prevention and control, and development assistance for health, etc. Up till now, many of the outputs have already been published in lots of Chinese and international journals and books. These outputs have extensive impact on strengthening China’s global health capacity building and shaping China’s global health policies.

In order to further disseminate the GHSP findings that are yet to be published in international journals, facilitate deeper understanding to international communities about the status, and development, and contribution of China's recent engagement in global health through partnership, supported both by National Health Commission of China and DIFD, the Journal of Global Health Research and Policy (GHRP) is taking the initiative to launch a thematic series entitled China-UK Joint Contribution to Global Health: Selected GHSP Findings and Policy Implications, in collaboration with the GHSP Project Management Office in Beijing and the senior consultants from both China and UK.

In order to facilitative this initiative, in March 23-24 and July 6-10, 2019, the Editorial Office of the GHRP journal has organized two workshops in Wuhan and invited senior editors and GHSP consultants to give lectures, instructions and advice to the delegates from GHSP Implementation institutions on how to successfully prepare the manuscripts.

All the articles are upcoming to be online soon. The main topics include the following aspects:
